I never fully finished this blog entry but its been sitting in my drafts just waiting to be listened to! Its mainly dedicated to Jack's Mannequin. Sorry if it feels all over the place. :)
Happy Listening!

I am not a fan of driving. I hold a great fear of semi trucks (I have been almost ran off the road more than once) I think my car is clearly invisible to them. Any sort of icy or snowy road also scares the daylights out of me. Panic attacks and sob fests come quickly when the first snowflake falls. Most likely this comes with my fear of NOT being in control...the thought of being helpless is terrifying. A part of life, beyond my control yes, but still one of my greatest fears. I would rather hold a snake, be trapped in a dark room, or bungee jump off of the Golden Gate Bridge.
That being said lets introduce my current playlist I have created. Since I moved I spend a lot more time in the car. My gym and boyfriend are located over 20 mins away. One comfort I have is singing in the car, much joy is brought to my ears as I drive to my various locations each day. I figured I could add excitements to my rides by creating some awesome driving mixes. I still live in the stone age with a cd player stereo rather than being able to directly plug in my ipod, so the playlists are cd length.
Here is current list of what I am listening to this week:
1. Spinning by Jacks Mannequin
Quick story about Jacks Mannequin, it was a side project of Andrew McMahon from Something Corporate. A lot of his music is entangled with his personal events, one being diagnosed with Leukemia.
I included the lyrics to this song below, I love the honesty in his music. Jacks Mannequin has become one of my latest obsessions, including Stacy Clark (who is featured in this song). Unfortunately this song is not featured on his myspace but if you go to Grooveshark, you can search it and listen to it there! Please do because you don't know what you are missing!
I'm keeping quiet
Till there no more sirens
Lately it's hard to keep the hinges on
with all the noise
I found my words when there was no one talking
The room is spinning I have got no choice
be patient, I am getting to the point
I can't remember when the earth turned slowly
So I just waited with the lights turned out again
I lost my place but I can't stop this story
I found my way but until then,
I'm only spinning
I'm keeping quiet til the phone stops ringing
lately it's hard to disconnect
I just want something real
I found the words if I can just stop thinking
the room is spinning I have got no choice
be patient, I am getting to the point
I can't remember when the earth turned slowly
So I just waited with the lights turned out again
I lost my place but I can't stop this story
I found my way but until then,
I'm only spinning
Spin beneath the rooftop
Hold on
Wait until the room stops
Spinning
I can't remember when the earth turned slowly,
so I just waited with the lights turned out again
I lost my place, but I can't stop this story
I found my way but in the end
we're only..
I can't forget when the earth turned slowly
so i just waited till the lights come on again
I lost my place, but I can't stop this story
I found my way but until then,
I'm only spinning
2. Swim by Jacks Mannequin
This one isn't officially a part of my mix but I like the message, and I wanted to share the video with you. It fits my Jacks Mannequin obsession as of late :)
3. Into the Airwaves by Jacks Mannequin
4. Annie Use Your Telescope by Jacks Mannequin
Go to his myspace for the original (the original is more ethereal), but this one is really good too. This is a nice relaxing song, BEAUTIFUL!
5. 1901 by Phoenix
This one was feature on My New Year Playlist to listen you need to go there!
6. Unusual by Stacy Clark
I have mentioned this one before as well. :) Go to her myspace to listen!
7. All I Wanted by Paramore
The first time I heard this song...I was hooked. I heart them.
Discover, play, share, internalize, get INSPIRED! Music has the power to change my mood, generally for the better. I love finding new music and in turn sharing with others. Now LISTEN: close your eyes, take a deep breath, get energized, let it out, or just dance! Feel free to comment with any music encouragement yourself. =)

My New Year Playlist
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!
I haven't posted in far too long! With all of the new year buzz I figured I might as well post a playlist dedicated to just that.
The main thing I focus on every year is to always stay positive, get into a solid routine, and always know that everything happens for a reason. :)
Happy Listening!
~Reyne
1. "The New Year" by Death Cab For Cutie
Perfect song to either toast in the new year to or just contemplate thoughts of the future.
2. "New Years Project" by Further Seems Forever
This is a very personal favorite that I am pretty sure hit over 100 plays on my itunes, when I saw that I realized hmmmmmm I must really like this song! I listen to this when I need a pick me up---sometimes you just need to give up everything to actually gain something. Oh and the vocals on this one come from Chris Carrabba (also known as Dashboard Confessional)...this is a pretty old song.
3. "Comes and Goes (In Waves)" by Greg Laswell
Just a favorite I cannot stop listening to! Whenever I listen to this song later I am sure it will make me think of what my life was in the end of 2009 beginning of 2010.
4. "1901" by Phoenix
Fits my stay positive goal...I can't help but feel happy & motivated when this tune is heard.
5. "Pressing On" by Relient K
Another personal favorite. This song has helped me through more than I could ever imagine. I tend to let lots of things just put me into overload...those of you who know me know very well that I very driven by emotions. This song grounds me and tells me to put all the garbage behind me.
6. "Don't Slow Down" by Copeland
Keep moving!
7."In These Arms" by The Swell Season
A current listen as of late. I love the simple beauty this one has to offer. It has gorgeous vocals and lyrics. I am in LOVE.
8. "Jump In" by Making April
Don't hold back.
9. "Let Go" by Frou Frou
One of my favorite songs of all time...go watch GARDEN STATE!
10. "We Are Going To Be Friends" by Jack Johnson (or The White Stripes...which ever you prefer)
My perfect teacher song...maybe this year?
